    General Rules

  1. Overkill Event Organizers always have final say. Do not argue with them.
  2. You will need to ckeck-in at the door and fill out a wavier before bringing your equipment in.
  3. All attendees are required to show legal, college identification, or it will be assumed that you are not a current college student. If you fail to present this identification, you will not be admitted.
  4. No pre- or post-college guests are allowed at this event. This means that if they are not in college, they are not getting in. This rule applies to students who have already graduated from college, and students who have not yet graduated from high school.
  5. Sleeping in the main event room will not be allowed. You will be woken up and asked to move elsewhere.
  6. You are expected to maintain good hygiene. Complaints about your body odor will result in removal from the event until you remedy the situation. (If someone smells – you need to report it to the help desk – we don’t have smell patrol)
  7. Keep your food and drink away from other peoples belongings.
  8. Clean up after yourself. Trash cans are only a few steps away.
  9. Disallowed Items and Contraband

  10. No alcohol, drugs, tobacco, or controlled substance may be brought to the event. If you are intoxicated or under the influence, do not return to the event.
  11. No weapons or likenesses thereof will be allowed inside the event area or on its grounds. This includes pellet guns, knives, air guns, and anything similar.
  12. No networking equipment is allowed. Please leave your personal hubs, switches, routers and wireless access points at home. This also applies to DHCP servers and Internet Connection Sharing.
  13. Headphones only, no speakers allowed
  14. No personal chairs, personal mini fridges, ice chests, coolers, and any other item an admin requests you not to have by the situation dictates.
  15. No CRT monitors over 21" (LCDs can be up to 24”). If the power trips and you have one larger, we may ask you to change monitors or pack up your machine. You will not be ejected from the event.
  16. Behavior and Conduct

  17. Since we try to maintain a friendly atmosphere, please limit profane language while at the Overkill LAN Party. If it is excessive an Overkill admin may warn you about this behavior and request that you leave if it persists.
  18. No fighting, brawling, punching, scratching, kicking, or any other form of physical misconduct will be tolerated. Fights will be broken up with force if necessary and involved parties will be removed from the event. Law enforcement will be involved as necessary.
  19. No smoking inside the building. Please go outside away from open doors.
  20. No drinking of alcohol on or around the event grounds. If you wish to drink, please do so elsewhere. If you are found drinking or intoxicated you will be removed.
  21. Sexual harassment will not be tolerated in any form. If reported, you will be removed from the event.
  22. No hacking or intentional network disruption. There will be zero tolerance for this behavior and you WILL be ejected.
  23. No trading of pornography, warez, mp3s or software will be permitted. Many of these files contain viruses. If your MAC address is found to be using excessive bandwidth, your port may be turned off without notice. The admin may request that inappropriate desktop wallpapers be changed, please respect the admin’s wishes. Viewing of pornography will not be tolerated.
  24. No touching, vandalizing, or any other form of physical contact of Overkill’s servers, network, and networking equipment is allowed. Our systems are expensive and took a long time to set up. If you are caught doing any of the above to Overkill or Sponsors' equipment, we will assume you are attempting to break them or disable a service of the party. YOU WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE LAN PARTY, NO QUESTIONS ASKED.
  25. Do not tamper with anyone else's equipment but your own. Again, there will be zero tolerance for this behavior and you WILL be ejected.
  26. Contests and Tournaments

  27. By participating in the Overkill LAN Party, you accept ALL tournament rules and understand that arguing with your tournament admin can lead to immediate disqualification from that tournament.
  28. No cheating. If you are caught cheating in a tournament or in normal gameplay, you and/or your team, will be disqualified and/or subject to removal. Overkill and its staff will determine what is constituted as cheating.
  29. Due to time constraints, tournaments may be modified at the discretion of the tournament staff.
  30. Liability

  31. If you damage or break any equipment belonging to, lent to, or donated to the Overkill organization, you will be held responsible to pay for the damages to, or the replacement of, the items in question.
  32. You are responsible for any damage or loss that may happen to your equipment or person as a result of participation in the Overkill LAN Party. This means that anything you, take to or win in, the event, you are liable for.
