Just a quick reminder that our LAN Party is tonight at 6:00pm. (Doors open for the those with a PC RSVP at 5:30 to setup). Please remember to bring a College ID.

We have added about 24 more seats to the BYOC so we should be able to seat everyone who was wait listed.  We will seat wait listed people starting at 6:00 pm. Walk ins will be seated at 6:30pm

***Reminder- Can Food< Drive (Optional)***
Overkill would like to do our little part to give back to the community. We would like everyone to bring 1 non perishable food item with them to the LAN.  With such a large crowd, we could really help fill up the local food pantry's closet! Be a part of something bigger with the gaming community.

A few reminders...

Console gamers-
  1. See ahead how to get to the lan.
  2. Read the rules page
  3. (Optional) Speed up check-in by printing out and completing our Liability Wavier ahead of time.

PC Gamers, to make everything goes smoothly, follow these easy steps to prepare...
  1. Backup your critical files, and what you're working on like your final paper, thesis etc to an external hard drive, dvd, 5 1/4 diskette, thumb drive etc.  The last thing you want is drop your computer leaving the lan and loose something important.
  2. Update your computer over at Windows Update to get the latest patches
  3. (optional) Update your graphics driver. There are separate sites for Desktop users and laptop users.
  4. Check out these links to see if you qualify for some free games like Half-life 2 Deathmatch on steam.
  5. If you don't own L4D, TF2, Counter Strike Source or Half-life 2 Deathmatch and want to play them at the LAN, Now! is the time to buy and install them before hand. Do the right thing and buy the games you want to play.
  6. Set Steam to Offline Mode. This will prevent a Friday Steam update from crashing the LAN
  7. Plan ahead how to get to the lan and how you are going to fit your computer safely in your car.
  8. Double check that you have everything you need to have a great night: We're not kidding that you need to bring a mouse pad.
  9. Read the rules page
  10. (Optional) Speed up check-in by printing out and completing our Liability Wavier ahead of time.
  11. Please before you pack up your computer, Test all of the games you think you might play and make sure they are fully updated and working. Internet at the LAN will be VERY slow.
  12. To prevent power problems at the LAN,  Please attempt to alternate desktop/laptop down the tables. There is a  limit 2 desktops to one of our powerstrips.  We don't want a circuit breaker to trip. We have marked the seats where desktops or laptops are preferred.
  13. If for some reason you or neighbor doesn't have the latest update for your game at the lan, please see the help desk rather than trying to download it. We have local copies of the updates available for the games we are hosting.

Hope to see you tonight. Bring a Friend!
